Confirm Deletion of Referenced Component dialog
-
Select the component to delete from the Component Explorer.
-
Check for references:
- If the component is not referenced, proceed to confirm or cancel the deletion.
- If the component is referenced by other components, you can still delete it, but it is useful to know which other components are affected by the deletion.
- If the component is referenced by others, the Confirm Deletion of Referenced Component dialog appears.
-
Review the dialog:
- A message shows the number of components referencing the component that you want to delete.
- A subset of the Component Explorer, containing only the components that reference the component that you want to delete along with the component itself is displayed.
-
Assess impact by navigating to any listed component directly from the dialog.
- Open components in a separate browser tab to review dependencies.
-
Decide whether to proceed with deletion based on the references and impact.
note
When a component is deleted, it is no longer usable in the process canvas and is not visible by default in Component Explorer. However, deleted components can be restored. For more information about how to restore a component's functionality, refer to the topic Deleted component restoration.
